Crime Reports for April 2021

We could be forgiven for thinking that thieves must be building themselves a clubhouse, with the number of building tools and materials that have been stolen lately.

On 3rd April, unknown persons have forced their way into the storage shed at the New Norfolk Golf Club.  They have taken numerous pieces of Honda gardening equipment, including hedge trimmers, blower vacs, etc. The Club was again targeted on 9th April when solar panels were taken from the roof of the shed.

On 12th April, a victim had her wallet stolen whilst she was in the post office.  Her cards were later used around New Norfolk. Please make sure you keep your valuables close to you, especially your purse/wallet or handbag.

Also on 12th, Fairview Primary School was the target as unknown persons have entered the school grounds and sprayed graffiti over the kitchen area of the school and smashed a door window leading to the kitchen area.

22nd April – A worksite on Middle Rd was entered overnight and items taken from a semi-completed house.  Among the large quantity of tools taken were Makita Power tools, including drills, circular saws and nail guns.

On 30th, Stateline Roofing has had stock delivered to a building site on Andrews St, however the next day when the workers have gone to use the materials, they found several fascia brackets missing along with fascia suspension clips.

Police are eager to hear from any member of the public who may have witnessed any of the above incidents or who have observed any suspicious activity in the neighbourhood. Whilst the information may seem trivial it may be the vital clue that Police are seeking to either solve or deter crime. Police would also like to remind the public not to leave valuables in vehicles when unattended. Ph Police on 131 444 for non-urgent matters, or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
