Tips For Good Mental Health

Knowing there are a lot of things under your control that can support your Mental Health is really empowering.

Sometimes things totally out of our control can have a big impact on our mental health. Mental illness can be a combination of many factors such as genetic/family history of mental health, difficult life experiences such as abuse, neglect or grief/loss, lack of self-esteem and confused thinking styles, and current circumstances such as stress at school or work or money problems or relationship issues.

But there are also a lot of things in our control that we can do to support our mental health. Try the following tips for a healthy headspace – Generally, it’s a good idea to incorporate these things into your everyday routine so that they become a normal part of life, and support you to handle challenges when they come up:
Eat well and reduce or cut out alcohol and other drugs; stay connected to family and friends; stay active and get enough sleep; learn new ways to handle tough times; And finally: get involved in life, and do what’s important to you.
