Worryingly, several incidents of violent crime have occurred recently in our district. Two incidents of motor vehicle theft took place on 1st August, with a blue Subaru station wagon being stolen from a Derwent Terrace driveway overnight and later being recovered without damage. This suspect has been charged with the offence.
Also, a brown Nissan Patrol was taken from outside a property in Southview Crescent. Luckily, and with neighbourhood collaboration, this vehicle was recovered on Kensington Street the next day, with all contents intact.
A brick was thrown through the window of a premises on Trevor Terrace on 22nd August and Police charges have been laid. The next day, a chain was broken and a black Avanti men’s pushbike removed from the backyard of a premises on Turriff Lodge Drive. The offender has been charged with Stealing.
A violent feud ensued on 25th August, at a property in Benjamin Terrace. This involved weapons and suspects have been charged with Aggravated Assault.
On 27th August, a grey Holden sedan was destroyed by two persons using metal poles, on Terry Circle.
A person was kicked and punched on Blair Street on the morning of 29th August. The suspect has been identified. NNNW would like to remind people to report any suspicious behaviour to Police on 131 444, and not to leave any valuables in a car overnight, especially if is it being parked in a driveway or a public place.
