Tassie Crimestoppers

Have you ever reported a crime? During the past 20 years, Tasmanians have made more than 50,000 reports to Crimestoppers helping to arrest more than 3,700 people for more than 16,500 offences, seize $7.5 million worth of drugs and recover $5.1 million of stolen and damaged property.

Crimestoppers won’t ask for your name. Calls aren’t traced and there is no caller ID. This anonymous crime reporting helps police to get information from the public without fear of payback. They offer rewards of up to $2000, if your information leads to an arrest, recovery of stolen property or seizure of drugs. Callers are known by a unique code number so that you can claim a payment.

Crimestoppers also run campaigns. In 2016, Tasmania had the second highest drug induced death rate in Australia and the greater Hobart region had the highest rate. So the Dob in a Dealer campaign ran in 2018- 2019.

Help keep our community safe and report suspicious behaviour. Any piece of information could help solve or prevent a crime or even save someone’s life.
